We’d all like to be (or at least look!) young forever, and strangely enough new advances in cosmetics and medical science are making this aspiration more a reality than ever before. The other piece of good news is that most of these procedures, at least the ones that are most in vogue and considered most effective at the moment, are non invasive and non surgical. Chemical peels, microdermabrasion and other modern methods of skin exfoliation are hugely popular, as are laser weight reduction and other fat reduction treatments meant to give a more toned body.
Of course the most widely talked about of these procedures is Botox injection. Some celebrities and socialites who have demanded this procedure injudiciously have done a little to tarnish its reputation, but it’s also widely acknowledged that Botox is a safe and very effective way to tighten skin and encourage a more youthful look. Botox is especially effective for eyebrow lift procedures and other anti aging facial treatments, but did you realize it also has some non cosmetic medical applications as well? It’s been discovered that Botox is an effective treatment for hyperhidrosis, a condition characterized by excessive sweating.
One of the perceived flaws of Botox, specifically its temporary nature, can also be viewed as one of its greatest assets. The effects of a standard Botox treatment typically last around six months. While the downside is that, assuming you’re happy with the results of your initial procedure, you’ll be spending at least a few hundred more dollars down the line to have your skin revived again when the effects wear off. The upside of this, however, is that if you’re unsatisfied with your appearance after a particular treatment (for instance if you feel it makes your face look unfamiliar or unnatural), that six month marker is the point at which your features will return to normal, wrinkles and all.
So although Botox isn’t “perfect,” it’s actually the ideal non surgical cosmetic procedure for those who want to rejuvenate their skin and reclaim a more youthful version of their features. Keeping in mind that the effects of Botox are strictly temporary, there’s no reason why a skeptic shouldn’t give it a try at least once. More like this blog: www.dermacarechesapeake.com
This has some interesting facts in it. I haven’t had Botox but I that’s partly because I didn’t realize the effects weren’t permanent. Six months is a long time to spend with a face you don’t care for, but maybe it’s not so bad.
It’s definitely worth a shot. I feel that if I invest in regular Botox treatments, I consistently look years younger. And I couldn’t be happier about that!
